Formica is a popular material for kitchen countertops, with good reason. Available in a wide range of prices, colors and designs, Formica's versatility and easy maintenance makes it a good choice for modern kitchens.
Instructions
- 1
Wipe Formica countertops every day with a damp, soft cloth. Remove spills as they occur so stains don't have a chance to develop, and don't let liquids sit on the counter, as they can seep into the seams and cause swelling.
2Use mild all-purpose household cleaners for stains and deeper cleaning. Don't use steel wool, abrasive cleansers or scrubber sponges on formica countertops.
3Remove tough stains from formica countertops by making a paste of water and baking soda. Dab the paste gently on the stain and blot it up, but don't rub it.
4Wax Formica countertops regularly, especially if they are worn, or older. Wax will keep stains from being absorbed into the Formica. Be sure to use a wax created especially for formica.
