The Genie Intellicode Garage Door Opener allows you to remotely open and close your garage door. The garage door opener can be controlled through a wireless remote or through a control pad set inside or outside the garage. The control pad requires an access code, and the wireless remote device randomly generates and uses a new code each time it communicates with the garage door opener. The garage door opener includes a light socket for a lightbulb in case you want a light to come on automatically when you open the garage door. To install a lightbulb in the socket, you must remove the light cover from the Genie Intellicode opener.
Instructions
- 1
Unplug the garage door opener power cord from the power outlet. Test the garage door opener to confirm that it has been unplugged.
2Locate the Phillips pan head screws that attach the light cover to the opener's front plate assembly. The screws are at the top of the light cover on the far left and right edges and are screwed into the opener's front plate assembly.
3Unscrew the right-side light cover screw with a Philips screw driver and set the screw aside.
4Hold the light cover at its base to support it. Unscrew the left-side light cover screw and set it aside. The light cover will immediately fall away from the opener assembly and complete the removal process.
