How to Polish Pour-in-Place Concrete Countertops

Concrete countertops are not only economical, but they are beautiful as well. When you wish to make a concrete counter top that has no seam, then a pour-in-place concrete countertop will fit the bill. Keeping your countertop beautiful requires some elbow grease to polish the hard surface.

Decide whether to polish the crme on the countertop surface or to expose the aggregate in the concrete.

Keep the head of the polisher flat, so it is even with the top of the counter.

Install a rigid back pad to reduce swirl marks that can occur if you accidentally tilt the polisher while polishing.

Put one hand on the polisher's head to keep it steady and level while polishing.

Polish the edges of the counter top the same way you polished the top. Keep the rigid backer pad in place, and polish the edge by moving the polisher from the left to the right. If you move the polisher up and down, you will create wavy lines.
