How to Make an Integrated Dishwasher Fascia Panel

An integrated dishwasher fascia panel or aesthetic panel makes a great addition to your kitchen. With a few woodworking tools and the proper specification sheet for your model of integrated dishwasher, you can make a fascia panel to coordinate with your existing cabinetry.

Instructions

    1

Buy high quality 3/4-inch stock (or the thickness recommended by the dishwasher's manufacturer) from your local lumber yard that is at least 24 inches wide and about 30 inches long. Let the wood sit to adjust to the climate of your kitchen for a day or two.

    2

Cut the rough dimensions of the integrated dishwasher fascia panel using a table saw. Measure on the diagonal carefully to keep the piece square so it will fit properly.

    3

Use a router to cut the required sections for panel installation. Sand the sections by hand or with a hand sanding tool, such as a Dremel.

    4

Drill required pilot holes with a drill press. Be sure not to drill through the face of the panel. Carefully measure the positions of the pilot holes as they need to match the dishwasher's manufactured door for proper installation.

    5

Sand the integrated dishwasher fascia panel with a band saw using medium to fine grain sandpaper. Use a tack cloth to remove any residual dust, and then finish with a coat of stain and polyurethane.
